OSHA Regulations Implemented

OSHA Regulation 1926.1400 governing Cranes and Derricks has been fully revised and implemented. Along with multiple changes in regulations, crane operators must now be either certified by an accredited crane operator testing organization, such as the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO), or qualified by an audited employer program.

Safety Resources Unlimited, Inc. is fully accredited by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) to administer both written and practical exams leading to Certification by NCCCO.

All Safety Resouces Unlimited, Inc. courses, training and NCCCO certification preparatory programs are current with the new regulation.

Safety Resources Unlimited Hosts Signalperson Practical Examiner Workshop

In a show of support for NCCCO’s two latest certification programs, Safety Resources Unlimited (SRU) hosted a two-day Signalperson Practical Examiner Workshop at our Oklahoma City, OK headquarters, followed by a three-day NCCCO Rigger Task Force meeting.

"Signalpersons play a vital role in construction work, and the need for them to be trained and tested is paramount to safe lifting practices," said Jennifer Sale, President of Safety Resources Unlimited. "NCCCO has created an excellent exam testing real life applications you see everyday."

The new Signalperson program uses a unique computer based program allowing all testing to be done by computer generated media and in a classroom facility. "NCCCO has effectively created an exam that replicates real world scenarios, while making the testing platform efficient and easy to administer from both the candidate’s and examiner’s perspective," said Sale.

Immediately following the Signalperson workshop, the NCCCO’s Rigger Task Force continued its work on the soon-to-be released Rigger Certification Program.
